Patch History

Patch management tasks  - Patch Deployment, Patch Undeployment and Patch Download - that have been performed over time for a particular patch, constitute the historical information for that  patch.

To view Patch History for a patch,

• Visit any of these views :
  • Patch Information views (Windows, Red Hat or Debian) from Patch Information tab 
  • Patch Group views from the Patch Groups tab
  • Scan Result view for any system
• From the patches list in the table, click on the patch history icon in the Views column, for any patch

In this view, you can see what patch management task has been performed at what time, its status and associated remarks on task completion. If there is no historical information for a patch, the icon will be grayed out .

The Task ID to each of the tasks is a link which will lead to the Task Audit Report of that particular task. Say for example, a patch download task comprises of downloading 5 patches. Therefore, from the Patch History view of one of these patches, you can derive the info about the download of the other 4 patches in one download task.

Patch History Report from Reports tab

Patch History can also be viewed from Reports tab --> Patch History link. Select a patch from the list and click on the Patch History Report button to see the report.

Patch History Graphs

The patch history reports are enriched graphically with pie-charts and bar graphs. The graphs displayed in this report are :

• Task Type Count Graph - this is a bar graph displaying the different tasks (download, deployment & undeployment) carried out on this patch and their respective counts.
• Task Status Count Graph - this is a pie-chart displaying status of each task (success, failed or currently running)

Each parameter on these graphs is a link, on clicking which you will be led a corresponding task list in the table view down below the graphs.

Export and E-mail

You can export this report to any of these formats namely : pdf, html and xls. Click on the 'Export' link on the top of the screen to view the reports in an export-format of your choice.

Reports can be viewed and saved in a particular export format or they can be e-mailed to an address. Click on the 'E-mail' link and select the format which needs to be e-mailed, along with the e-mail ID and a custom message.
